To maintain a CoSEIA Certification, the certified individual must participate in a minimum of 12 contact hours of CoSEIA-sponsored, or CoSEIA-approved training per year, where the year is marked at the anniversary date of your passed certification test . For those individuals holding certification in both Photovoltaics and Solar Thermal, 16 hours of approved training per year is required, and a minimum of 25% of those hours should be in each category. If excess training hours are accumulated, these hours may be applied to the succeeding year. Excess training hours may not be applied to any previous year.
If you intend to attend a non-CoSEIA-sponsored training session, it is strongly suggested you verify through CoSEIA, in advance, that it will be approved and therefore acceptable to count towards your continuing education requirements.
You are required to re-certify in your Category at least once every five years for the Solar Thermal Certification and at least once every three years for the Photovoltaics Certification by taking the appropriate Certification Test.
It is up to the certified person to keep a record of their continuing education records and annually report these hours to the CoSEIA office on the Continuing Education Form.
You may complete the Continuing Education form below and submit online; or print a form and submit it via snail mail. Printer-friendly versions of the Continuing Education form are available here in a PDF format.
